Amazingly, there were three interpretations of Rapper’s Delight made in Brazil in 1980. The first was “Melô do Tagarela” by Miele and the second “bons Tempos” by Equipe Radio Cidade out of Rio. The Sao Paulo branch of Equipe Radio Cidade decided that they needed to make their own version of bon Tempos, and that became, you guessed it, Sao Paulo. At the time it was promo only, but like a lot of rare grooves, is available on Mr Bongo, as part of their 45 series.
