Single Track Mind
Chicago 13 album cover

Street Player

Chicago

This is a song that I think anyone who has been to a club in the past 30 years has certainly heard without really knowing it. It’s probably most popular for being remixed by Kenny Dope of Masters at Work in 1995’s “The Bomb! (These Sounds Fall Into My Mind)” by The Bucketheads. Also sampled by Pitbull - a fact that I only know because I was probably one of the 12 people who had an Xbox Kinect with Dance Central.

I have never really paid much attention to Chicago (the band), but they have an insane number of albums (almost 40). This is from their 13th, though you can’t really tell from the album art because they’re all just the logo done in different ways.

Fun fact: this is actually a cover of a Rufus & Chaka Khan track.

One song per day. Two hundred words or less.
