Cowboy Bebop is one of those anime’s that I feel like I should love. And I do love the concept of it, and there are some genuinely great episodes in the series. But every time I try to revisit it, the whole thing turns into a slog.

The music is a big part of why the show is so memorable. Though, upon revisiting, the soundtrack has a lot of the same issues a lot of Japanese soundtracks have — it wears its influences on its sleeve, and occasionally verges on plagiarism. Not totally sure how to reconcile that. The music is still good, just maybe not as inventive as I originally thought.
