Right after COVID, Royce dragged us out to a Surprise Chef show at Madame Lou’s, the claustrophobic little venue under the Crocodile in Seattle with a killer sound setup. For almost two hours, these guys blew my mind playing jazzy hip hop adjacent instrumentals.

Fast forward a few years, and here in PDX, Drew at Passenger Seat Records turns me onto College of Knowledge. A collective of jazz and soul musicians out of Melbourne, including Surprise Chef and artist I’ve got queued up for you today JNBO.
