Single Track Mind
Stress: The Extinction Agenda album cover

Why

Organized Konfusion

Need to regain some cred now following the TRL detour. This entire album is incredible and honestly the entirety of Stress: The Extinction Agenda should be the pick today if you’ve never heard it and are even remotely interested in rap/hip hop.

This is an album that is in the same pantheon as the greats like Stakes is High, The Low End Theory, Blowout Comb, etc. but somehow not often mentioned in the same breath frequently enough.

In fact according to Wikipedia, (take that high school English teachers) “Spin magazine included it on [their] list of the “10 Best Albums You Didn’t Hear In ‘95”. So I’m not alone in my disappointment that this album doesn’t get the credit it deserves.

Anyway this is one of my favorites on the entire project. Nice laid back jazzy production on this one courtesy of Buckwild and the horn at the end? Perfection

One song per day. Two hundred words or less.
