Chris and I have been pulling together an episode of the radio show that focuses on Blaxploitation soundtracks. This idea started percolating after I visited the Sesc 24 de Maio exhibit HIP-HOP 80’sp – São Paulo na Onda do Break. I guess I never really made the connection between films like Black Dynomite, Dolomite, or Sheeba Baby clearly and hip hop, but the influence is clear.
