“Speed Racer”

Brazilian hip hop, soul, and electronic music are a big blind spot for me. In São Paulo, I had a chance to visit SP na Onda do Break at Sesc 24 de Maio. This personal collection was a reminder of the influence hip hop culture and break dancing have had well beyond New York and across decades.

This exhibit sent me down a rabbit hole, listening to a small lifetime of music in just over a week. Here’s a track I stumbled across. It’s a bit hard to classify, but it’s got a killer bassline.
