Single Track Mind
Plan G. album cover

I had to import this vinyl from Japan because it came out three days after I left from my month-long trip and no one would break street dates to give it to me. Unfortunate; but this track is just the latest in a stellar production discography from DJ Mitsu the Beats who has long since been a favorite of mine. I’ve always said he would be the producer I would aspire to be if I ever got into music production.

The simple piano melody surrounded by those airy synth pads almost transports you to another dimension. I’d recommend this entire album for anyone who is looking to get into Japanese hip hop as it is a good bridge to that old boom bap jazzy style that should be well familiar to fans of Tribe, De La, Pharcyde, etc.

One song per day. Two hundred words or less.
