Single Track Mind

One specific cross section of music that I always found interesting was foreign language covers of English songs. There are many varieties of these, some that are sung by the actual artist to varying degrees of success and others that are just straight re-records or interpolations from other artists. This song falls into the latter category.

While I do think it’s really difficult for anyone to match the ability of Toto in the studio - they were basically a group of session musicians who had played on and written tracks for the likes of Steely Dan, Boz Scaggs, and Michael Jackson - this song I feel does a decent job of covering the original and the french lyrics add a bit of novelty to a track that most of us probably only know from oldies stations.

I’m presuming everyone reading this is the same as me because I am a narcissist.

One song per day. Two hundred words or less.
