Distractions

This is definitely an MTV2 era pick if there ever was one.

Around high school was the first time that I actually became intentional about listening to music and understanding my personal likes and dislikes rather than just being shaped by whatever happened to be playing in the background at the time. I saw the music video for Destiny and was immediately enthralled by Sia’s voice. I ended up downloading Simple Things on Napster and played it to death. I do now have a copy of it on vinyl so don’t come after me RIAA.

Distractions is at this moment my favorite song on that album - but it does change from time to time.
