Living in a Box

So I watched a lot of VH1 growing up and specifically remember seeing this music video multiple times, I always thought the lyrics were hilarious “I’m living in a box, I’m living in a cardboard box” (juvenile I know). So imagine my surprise when I found out that the line actually is “Am I living in a box?, Am I living in a cardboard box?” I guess the song is like a metaphor for feeling constrained by society or expectations or something. Not nearly as funny.
