Is it Love?

I was fortunate enough to see Injury Reserve live a few times before the untimely passing of member Jordan Groggs. The first was opening for The Underachievers in some tiny dive bar in Seattle. During which some heckler started arguing with the band, was invited to come on stage and continue his smack talk, and when he did a fight broke out. Anyway the second time I saw Injury Reserve, they were headlining their own show and before starting S on Ya Chest from their 2nd LP Floss, they did a live remix of the primary sample for that song, which is the actual focus of this post. This song is actually a cover of a Thundercat tune, which I also love, but the added flourishes and instrumentation make it a worthwhile listen on its own merit. One of the few samples that takes the source material and makes its own completely unique experience out of it.
