I Have Got No Money
The Peace
Found this gem through Kamikazu, Kazu Kokubo’s snowboard film. It soundtracks a mellow halfpipe session with Kazu and crew — perfect palate cleanser after all the heavy backcountry cliff-hucking earlier in the film. Loose, joyful, and full of groove.
It also opened my ears to a whole new sound for me. Zamrock, Zambia’s take on rock in the ’70s — fuzzed-out guitars, psychedelic flourishes, and melodic grooces.
“I Have Got No Money” keeps it simple and raw — a little garage, a little funk, a lot of soul.
