After Joy

This song plays with space in a way that to me is hypnotising. I was hooked from that opening synth lead that slowly fades to nothing. Reminds me of advice that I received on public speaking, paraphrasing here but “don’t be afraid to pause, the time always seems longer in your head than it actually is in real life”. This song I feel puts you exactly in that headspace, the gaps almost feel uncomfortable while the notes decay, but those pauses are what actually provide impact to the song. Navigating the space inbetween and playing with those minimal moments of percussion I think is the sign of a true artist. As a brilliant philosopher once said, “Why waste time say lot word when few word do trick?”
