Hydrocity Zone Act 2

Sega Sound Team

I played a ridiculous amount of Sonic 3 growing up as a Sega kid, not more than Sonic 2 mind you, but still quite a bit. One of the big pieces of why is that the music is incredible - a good chunk of it was likely ghostwritten by Michael Jackson. I don’t think he was involved in this piece particularly, but it was listed as one of Thundercat’s three songs he can’t live without, so I’m not alone.

I will say it took me years to get past Carnival Zone Act 2 because I didn’t realize you had to press up and down on that spinning platform to make it move. So that goes down in history as one of those impossible gaming moments that kids can’t get these days due to the internet. Like beating the tutorial of Driver - which also took me a good 5 years (I think I literally beat Driver 2 first before I discovered all the maneuvers required to beat the tutorial for the first Driver were explained in the instructions).

One song per day. Two hundred words or less.
